Dawn (Sweeney) Kniep is a Licensed Clinical Marriage & Family Therapist (LCMFT) and Certified Health Coach (CHC); she has been practicing since her graduation from Friends University in 2013. It is Dawn’s belief that it is the painful and difficult times that can be the pieces of our lives that make us and our relationships stronger, healthier and beautifully unique.
Dawn’s experience includes working with couples through premarital counseling, relationship difficulties (infidelity, pornography, communication), as well as individuals of all ages facing depression, anxiety, grief of loss, life transitions (divorce, children launching, retirement), parenting issues, personal development and specialized experience and training in sexual abuse and assault. Dawn is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) Therapy.
Dawn has a heart for blended families and the unique set of challenges they face at every phase or “season” of their development. She has worked with such families through premarital counseling as well as through the times when the blending process has become difficult.
Dawn is a California native, but has called Wichita her home for over thirty years. She and her husband enjoy the outdoors, spending time with their own blended family and working to help others with their health and fitness goals.
Dawn provides services to: Couples and Individuals with ages twelve and up.
